Default Skinomi Carbon Fiber Techskin Review

I've had the Skinomi Techskin Carbon Fiber for about 3-4 weeks now.
You can view the webpage here:
http://www.skinomi.com/sk5455-motoro...protector.html

I really like it. It took a few days for it to settle in (and by that I mean for the corners to not pick up every little speck of fluff in your pocket) but since then it is amazing. It has a pretty nice texture to it (it's not smooth); it feels like actual woven carbon fiber. It also came with a clear front screen protector, which is just as good as the InvisibleShield minus the orangepeel effect.

Here is an awesome montage of pics, courtesy of my 3DS:

How did the screen protector fit, are the cutouts in all the right spots?

Great pics. I have the same exact skin sitting in its package on my computer desk at home, but unfortunately I've been sending back every single Droid 3 I've owned due to one problem or another. I'm receiving my 10th replacement tomorrow and hopefully this one won't be a ****ter. I love the texture on this skin and I seriously can't wait to put it on my phone.

Question for you; did you use a blow-drier during any part of installation? I read that it's a good idea to use a blow-drier on the corners when first installing so they don't flip back up.

Nope, never used a blow drier. There was only one part that kept peeling up (the bottom of the screen half of the phone, under the capacitive buttons, on the chrome part). What I did was just held it over my lighter until it stayed down.

Gotcha, good to know. I'm installing mine tonight.

Installed my clear TechSkin a couple of days ago and it's been doing great. I might post a review of it later but your review of the carbon fiber version gave me the thumbs up I needed to go for my leap of faith to get the TechSkin

I'm a big fan of Skinomi Products as well. They are affordable and make a solid protector. I have the screen protector on my XT860 and also used them for my Desire Z. I like that their protectors are 'smooth' and the screen retains the 'glass' feel. Invisible shield was a bit thick and felt unnatural on a touch screen.

Anyone ordering from their website can use this generic promo code for 25% off: skinomi25. I would also recommend searching amazon as many times they are cheaper there.

Yeah, skinomi25 works, I used it. I think that the price averaged around $15 for Amazon which is the same as with the 25% off but you get a lifetime warranty.

I'd say the material is the same "soft" screen protector material but Skinomi's is much better since it doesn't have the orange peel effect on the screen and it's not "sticky" either like Zagg's InvisibleShield.

x2. I've used Skinomi protectors since I got my original Droid a couple years back. Just picked up the kit for my XT862 and everything fit perfect. The surface is much more durable than any of the sub $5 products offer. Worth every penny.
