Default Evo4G+TP2=Photon4G ????right?????

I have had an EVO for over a year now ,but allways kept my touch pro 2 for job international travel.
Now ofcoarse I'm aware of photons gsm roaming with sim.
I'm trying to decide will I miss my flashing ROM addiction on my EVO .I am running energy on my tp2 and MikG on my EVO.
I have navigated through the photon forums and its definitely not as lively as EVO forums.
It could possibly reduce me to a single device ...

Should I or Shouldn't I that is the question?

Default GSM

I gave my Evo to my daughter when upgrading to the Photon. Used it in the Dominican Republic last week with an Orange GSM card withdrawing no problems. Was nice to switch between networks without having to carry two phones. I also used Skype when on WiFi and the quality was excellent.

I miss being able to mod the phone like I could the Evo but there is a lot more activity on this forumn than a month ago. The Photon is a little better phone than the Evo in my opinion lighter and the screen a little better

Well you won't have a thousand ROM's to flash, but......are those thousand ROM's on the Evo REALLY any different? Or are they just slight differences on the same base?

I used to be addicted to flashing ROMs on my EVO too but honestly haven't missed doing that since I got my photon. The reason I flashed ROMs and kernels on my EVO was to make the battery (and overall performance) better. With this phone, that's not necessary since the battery is amazing!!

If you wanna change the look of your screens then there's always different launchers with themes to choose from.

+1 to this. Went from the WinMo HTC Diamond years ago, to the flagship Sprint Android Hero, to the EVO Shift to the MoPho (just got it yesterday). Becoming a Flashaholic was a way of life, and...as semi-exciting as it was anytime a new base or kernel would drop, flashing 1-2 ROMS a week or so became tedious and distracting.

I rooted the MoPho this morning simply to be able to access the build.prop so I could set the LCD Density where I wanted it (200), adjust the VM Heap (64m) and run a few scripts, along w/ convenience apps like reboot, screen off and button remapping. At this point, I'm more than happy to sit back and let the experienced devs do their thing as this phone comes into its own, and it just feels good to not HAVE to tweak the hell out of the phone just to get it to behave like a phone.
Currently running:

Phone: VZW Galaxy S3 32 GB Dev Ed.
ROM: 4.1.2 Stock
Recovery: Stock
Kernel: Stock
Freq: Stock
LCD Density: Stock

Retired: Galaxy Nexus, iPhone4s 32G, EVO LTE, 3vo, MoPho, Evo Shift, OG Evo (semi-retired), Hero, Diamond

No problem man!! I don't think you'll be disappointed in the MoPho at all.
