web2Go or T-zones on Venue

Hello everyone.
I am considering purchasing a Venue (used) and was planning on using on T-mobile. I know T-mobile filters IMEIs of their Android phones and banned from using cheap ($5.99 or $9.99) data plans. Since Dell Venue is sold unlocked and not branded by T-mobile, would it be safe to assume that can use web2Go or older T-zones data plans (like HTC HD2 and other WindowsMobile and Symbian phones) given I can put in the settings in Andoid? Just wandering if anyone had luck with that.
I also would appreciate any feedback about the phone, esp with regarding to ease of rooting and removing apps (or any guides on doing so). Thanks.
