[HOW-TO][zergRush Root] Root w/ v2.2.x-2.3.x (NOT ICS 4.x or GB after 11/2011)

I tried it on my friend's xperia, biit it seems that his mobile is from exception list provided their.
I have seen videos too @ youtube but not working application hangs.
I used zergs too it runs completly but after reboot there is no superuser app.
Is there any universal method to root xperia arc

alright. I just got my Verizon Xperia Play R800x earlier today

ive updated it to 2.3.3
Build Number: (3.0.1.E.0.88)

before i do ANYTHING, i would just like to double check that I would be able to root this.

Can any of you let me know please?

and which version should i use. SuperOneClick or Doomlord's (which is easier to un-root from, just in case?)

ive got both downloaded to my computer already.

ok i rooted my Play, do i use rom manager to install the Clockworkmod? because its says i should install clockworkmod recovery first...where do i get that?

Rom Manager will always tell you that you don't have recovery, since the PLAY has no dedicated recovery partition. You can, however, install ClockworkMod Recovery to system by using this app (Rom Manager still won't see it though)

hey i got an xperia arc with gingerbread 2.3.4 will this work with 4.0.2.A.0.42? and btw will ics update be supported? or there will be a delay to find a new method?

Yes it will work with what you've got, ics update not too sure more and more people keep unlocking bootloader and don't need to worry about gaining root but I'm sure with time something will come along it always does
