unlocking bootloader by reverting to 2.1

hey guys,,,,i want to unlock the bootloader,,i have tried the conventional method given here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1254087 ,,i read some readers reverting to 2.1 and then unlocking the bootloader,,i would be very thankful if someone can tell me the steps of unlocking the bootloader by this method,,thanks

1. Flash 2.1
2. root it
3. Keep debugging and unknown sources on and plug in your phone.
4. Run the unlocking tool
5. Flash 2.3 firmware
6. Flash DooMKernel (optional)

thanks a lot mate,,,,i found some roms here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...46&postcount=1 ,,is there a particular rom suitable for me or i can flash any of the 2.1 roms?

I have followed the 2.1 technique. And it was successful. I flashed global generic 2.1 fw. here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
And once you unlock bootloader flash a pre rooted 2.3 rom and with .71 baseband. After that you can flash doomlord kernel.

hey guys,,i am now on 2.1 rooted firmware,,,even now when i am using the unlocking tool ,it is not unlocking it,it says bootools \adb.exe is not rcognized ,,help

dude,,,the unlocking tool is not working,,,it says boottools\adb.exe is not recognised as an operable program or batch file,,,help
