I'm totally new to the whole rooting thing. I successfully installed CWM on my phone a few months ago, wasn't quite ready to make the leap to flashing a rom...until about a week ago. I flashed the latest syndicate frozen rom with twilight kernal. Everything was working fine, except today I tried the wifi tether app that came preloaded. Would not work with my laptop, so I tried a few other old apks, it worked then the laptop shut down. Not sure why. Then my phone started force closing all over the place, everything i tried to do. Quickly tried a reboot, everything on my launcher was gone, back to the original. Tried booting into cwm, wipe all the things to wipe (LOL), wouldn't even boot, just kept going back to the ACS logo. Decided to try ODIN3. Followed the steps on here to a T. Downloaded the EC05 tar, and checked all 3 boxes (because that's what the instructions said to do), re-partition, auto-reboot, and f reset time. Hit start, I took about 10 seconds, said success 1/failed 0 and phone shut down. I put battery back in...NOTHING. It does nothing. Dead. How screwed am I?
Edit: Even when I plug the phone into the charger it doesn't light up. It did have a low battery when I started, thought I could make it through.

well, i'll try and help... unplug your phone, pull the battery. push the power button a few times, then put the battery back in and try charging again. if it doesn't make it that far, then i can't help u. if it does, post back here and we'll go from there.
Ok, I did that, plugged it back in and the charge light still doesn't come on but the screen is actually on...it's just black.
This is what odin log looked like if that helps any.

Then phone shut off, I unplugged, put battery back in and nothing.
You bricked it. You didn't have to do odin... could have just reflashed the rom. You can try odin even though it doesn't show the download mode, just do the 1+power. Only check auto reboot this time.
You may not be screwed just yet. I had this type of thing happen with odin before on my buddies phone (twice actually).
Try this:
Pull the battery out of the phone and wait a few min. Start odin, then with the battery out of the phone plug the usb in to the phone and pc, hold 1 and hit power. If your lucky the phone will go into download mode with out battery in. Once your in dowload mode feel free to pop the battery in (without unplugging) and redo your odin flash.

I tried reflashing or at least that's what I thought I was doing from sd card and it said there was nothing available...that's when I thought I'd just start over.

The PC doesn't even recognize the phone but I'll try again. The battery's been out for a few minutes. What I don't get is wasn't odin done? Does it really take 10 seconds?? I think I must have unplugged it prematurely even though the phone shut off ... Okay, just tried and it will not go into download, nothing happens at all when I connect to pc.

oops, hit thanks instead of quote... try again to unplug it and pull the battery, push the power button a few times. wait a few more minutes. then put the battery back in and try to charge it for a little bit before u do anything else. don't try anything again with a dead battery. ALWAYS make sure u have a full battery before flashing anything or this kind of stuff can happen.

It won't reboot without the battery. If you Odin'd successfully without the battery and your battery has a decent charge on it, after it completes you should be able to unplug it and pop the battery in and hit the power button and it will start. As a precaution do not unplug it until after the RESET is on Odin and wait a few seconds to be sure.

It won't even recognize the charge is plugged it, no light, no nothing. Do you think swapping out a fully charged battery might do something?

That was the problem, I must have unplugged prematurely. I was reading the instructions and saw the phone shut off so I assumed it was trying to reboot but couldn't without the battery so I unplugged it. I can't get back to Odin, the pc doesn't recognize the phone, it doesn't go into download mode, won't even charge the battery.
Heading to sprint in the morning. Appreciate your help guys. Let see what they'll do without insurance! :0
