2.3.1 is LIVE!
Hello again! I am back with a quick little update for you all. No super significant changes this time around, but some nice improvements.
Most notably, the eBook reader has returned to ALL versions of the rom! I know there were many of you out there that used this app and missed it while it was gone so I'm sure you are all happy. On top of that change, a number of apps have been updated to their latest versions (including all the Google apps that were just rebranded to their "Play" variants).
Another noteworthy change is that I have switched from the stock HC browser back to the Samsung variant. I have modded it still to support user agent switching, but on the unfortunate side the theming is back to the fugly Samsung style. It is a worthy trade off though as using this browser is equally as fast as the stock HC one and it glitches far less (back button not working anyone? :P).
New to this release I have introduced some "updater" installers. These zips will install ONLY the apps that have changed and nothing else. This ultimately offers more flexibility for the users as installing the update version will leave everything in tact, even themes that you may have installed (unless of course you installed a themed version of an app that got updated...which is unlikely in this release anyway). Note that the "Full" install still does not WIPE your data during the install and it must be done manually if that is what you wish to do.
A note to the P7300 folks - I noticed during testing that I made a mistake in the 2.3.0 release for your device. It seems I included a modded version of the stock launcher from the P7300 rom rather than the UELA3 launcher I included in all other releases. As such, the experience wasn't quite as smooth as I was raving about in the release post, which possibly left a number of you puzzled. In any event, this has been fixed with the 2.3.1 release and the UELA3 super smooth launcher is included
Last thing to mention is that I have removed HideBar from the included apps. It doesn't seem to work reliably enough (especially when its preinstalled...seems to work better when sideloaded) so anyone that wishes to use that app I urge you to get it from the developers website - http://ppareit.github.com/HideBar/
That should about do it! Go hit the downloads and enjoy the release!
