My USB input already supports analog audio. Therefore I only need a micro USB to regular USB that supports both charging and analog audio. I don't need the auxillary 3.5 mm cable also attached. Is this possible? And would anybody be willing to explain that setup or be able to build one that I would definitely purchase?

what kind of usb input do you have. IE what is it and what is it connected to (do you have a reference i can see for the device< if i where to make you a cable> i really take no responsiblity if you blow up a regular usb connector (i thought about making the same thing for a custom usb female connector in my car so it could be easier and more hidden when not in car etc.. but thought about the damage i reference below.

does it get triggerd to go into analog audio
if so whats the triger on the usb A connector.

if you make the cable just dont use the audio side all u need is a usb cable resistor and micro connector for the custom side for s3.
i could make you one easily..
but if it got pluged into a regular usb port it could be bad. (i should try but i dont know what a audio input at x volts into a usb data port
as you would be sending down the audio on the d- and d+ pins

This is my exact working setup in my car at the moment and then the other setup that I am trying to do (but doesn't work):

That post should explain everything and if not let me know.

Did someone test this DIY cable solution with a Galaxy Nexus?

Doesn't work. The GNex is programmed to think the 619k ohm resistor is a "jig". It could work if someone changed the kernel, but I've already asked and got snubbed.

Default Charging Slowly

Hey,
I've tried making this cable and everything works as it should but the charging is extremely slow. It discharges at times.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue? Are the official docks also charging so slowly?
Btw I've used a multiplier and checked. The voltage is 5V till the micro usb pin and the ampere reading is 1A.
Is it a software/kernel problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah it's a kernel issue. i remember changing a setting somewhere on mine to make it charge at 850mah or something... it means it actually increases the charge during GPS use, screen on, and music playing in the car.

Thanks for the response. But does that mean that Samsung is so dumb to sell docks for $50 that don't charge properly. Because if I use this cable to charge my S3, the battery doesn't rise at all. OR are we missing something?
Can anyone with an official dock let me know if their dock charges at a slow rate.

Your response will be highly appreciated, thanks

Actually your cable might have issues as the resistor is supposed to communicate with the phone about charge rate too.

The I9100 is limited to 650mA charging. This is why I got rid of the I777 and picked up a Galaxy Nexus.
