I just checked with Seidio online and they have the black surface case and holster now shipping.

Depends on you definition of better. Protection wise the active cases from seidio or more comparable to the otterboxes. I pulled the trigger on one of these today. When I do get it I can compare it to the sprint case and holster which I currently have.
