Hey, I got it figured out last night, using a little bit of what Kane had found, and got it working.

I was never able to find that bin file either, but I added some coding to the init.d file to delete everything in the /data/eri and make it read only. Then in /framework-res.apk/res/xml/eri.xml you can make your edits.

Changed it in the pull down and the phone screen.

now if I can just get this layout stuff figured out I'll be good to go!
having issues in the pulldown, that second line of txt in the notifications it either disappears or gets cut off, trying to get both lines of txt to the right of the icon like in ICS ... so frustrating!

OP UPDATED!!! Check out the screen shots!

Looks great!! The source is released...now port ICS onto the phone!!

Anybody else have a problem with the system force closing upon flashing this? Haha. I'll try it again Mon, don't feel like playing the "please dont break my phone" game on vacation, however much I dislike non-kangwich on the phone.
