Default Easily upgrade to 5.7.893, keep root AND webtop now :)

You MUST be completely stock on 5.5.886, if you're not go here to do so: R3L3AS3DRoot and 43V3R root for the BIONIC v2

After that apply the FOR3V3R root and proceed with the following:

Flash stock recovery of full Blur_Version.5.5.886-5.7.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US

how to get into stock recovery, some people were having issues or trying to flash via cwm

Now for the WEBTOP flash this via CWM
[MOD] Webtop Via HDMI Without a Dock

You will now be on the latest update and have root and webtop

BTW, seems the MR1 update was the culprit, webtop was working with all other updates

NO LONGER NEEDED STEPS

1.) Download and install 5.6.893 via stock recovery Blur_Version.5.5.893(5.6.893).XT875.Verizon.en.US
md5:066e3c2393aeecb963fc950013e42a76

2.)Download and install 5.6.893MR1 via stock recovery Blur_Version.5.5.893mr1.XT875.Verizon.en.US
md5:0fd4bd040c35e681f2d54cc41aff3520

3.)Download 5.7.893 and install 5.7.893 via stock recovery Blur_Version.5.6.893-5.7.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US

EDIT: Seems webtop is broken in the last 2 updates, trying to find a way to fix it or if we can narrow down what's breaking it.

EDIT: Will post the full 5.7.893 when I get home

So I did the old method of forever root and did the update to. 893 with no hassle. So I can just boot inti recovery and flash the latest zip with no problem? Sorry for the noob question but I've been at work for damn near 12 hours.

Everything I've done has been through cheesecake. You have this one : "Blur_Version.5.5.893mr1.XT875.Verizon.en.US" - and that 'mr1' is throwing me off. Is this necessary for me to flash first before the 5.7?

Thanks. Good write up.

Yea, it kept failing on me if I didn't flash the MR1 update.

I renamed the files according to what they are "supposed" to upgrade your system to, that way there isn't a lot of confusion. I hope I didn't confuse anyone more lol

Gotcha. So with the build number I listed above, do the MR1 first, then the last one? Correct?

I also wanted to mention that cheesecake is dead today. I found 5.7 earlier this morning by just clicking system update from about phone, but I didn't download it because I'm on Th3ory. Now I can't find it and it makes me mad! Lol.
