Default [Q] USB to Jack

I was wondering about the quality of such cables. Like this one :

Do they work well ? My stock headset is dying and want to replace it with a standard jack headset. Does this adaptator affect the sound quality ?
And on a side note, does headset buttons and controls still work if I use it ?

I bought something like that, the phone doesn't automatically detect it so I have to use a widget to activate it. The sound quality is ok, but it's better over bluetooth

Thumbs up Ya it work

One you have showed is 5-pin mini USB(male) to 3.5mm jack (female) and if button is on the connector it will work, if button is on your earphones then it will not work. I also use this kind of connector but it came with the box.
