Default Best keyboard for landscape typing on the Note

I am trying to determine the best keyboard for landscape (2 thumb) fast typing on the Galaxy Note. I have tried Smart Keyboard Pro and Swiftkey phone version in addition to the stock keyboard and find Swiftkey better than the others. Is there a better keyboard out there which will make typing more accurate on this large screen?

For me the best is also SwiftKey.
It's predictions after a short learning time is awesome.

Try thumb keyboard. It had some great reviews for the dell streak a time ago http://www.streaksmart.com/2011/01/t...ll-streak.html This is a old review. It has way more features now, but the layout is the same.

I will update it this week. The rendering of the secondary characters is not good right now on the Note.

If there are particular requests, let me know.

Thumb Keyboard.... nothing else comes close in my opinion. It just works as you want it to, and you can set up a lot of useful things on it, without it being over the top. It's a rare example of something being "spot on". It transformed touchscreen typing on my HD2 with long fingers, as I've always been a fan of physical keyboards on a device.

Don't want to brag it up too much, as the writer is on this forum, with a Galaxy Note, which he claims he will update to do a "Note" version (ie taking into consideration the screen size)

LOL - Spooky!!!!!!

I had an idea tonight in work.....

People have said you need two hands to use this device and to type on... so I was thinking - for a right handed person for example, couldn't you pad out the left hand side of the keyboard, so it would all get shifted over to the right, so a right handed person could hold the phone in their hand, and still type using the thumb? Obviously the keyboard would now only be HD2 sized for example, but shifted over to the right hand side of the device, with a gap on the left.

Just a thought.

Wow.
Great pedigree, except for a few visits to the dark side.

Great idea. I've already such a thing implemented for 10" tablets, but I think the concept will work on the Note to.

I had a look at this keyboard a little earlier. My first reaction was that it may not suit my style of typing due to the gap in the middle of the keyboard (may be because my style is a bit odd). What I find myself doing is that I would type characters in the middle like 'T' and 'Y' using either the left or the right thumb depending on the word. For example to type 'THAT' I would do this

T - left thumb
H - right thumb
A - left thumb
T - right thumb

So you can see I typed 'T' first using the left thumb and then using the right thumb. This gives me the fastest typing speed as when my left thumb is pressing the character 'A' my right thumb is moving towards 'T' (at least that's what I believe anyway)

As another example, I find that if I typed 'T' with my left thumb and the next character is adjacent to it e.g. 'Y', I would also use my left thumb for 'Y' as it happens to be right next to the character I just typed.

As so many people think of this keyboard highly, I will give this keyboard a go and hopefully my daemons will go away with use.
