Fake cards show the advertised capacity when plugged in and they write and read normally at first. But once you exceed a couple of gigs (the actual capacity of the fake card which is usually 2-4GB); file corruption becomes commonplace and renders the data unusable.
I'd spend a bit more and buy it from a proper retailer than be stuck with a dud card (and worse, lost data).
