We don't know. However, you can safely use LC1 instead.

Hey, I'm on stock LB1 and am trying to do that method to root the phone and install CFRoot. I can get temporary root, but when it goes to push the zimage (yes I've downloaded the LB1 file, opened it and put the zimage in the right folder), I get

--- flashing zImage
cannot open for write: permission denied
--- cleaning up
--- rebooting

And it doesn't flash the CF root kernel.

Any help?

Lb1 is not rootable directly.
First downgrade to older rootable ROM.

After flashing kj1 with pc odin, cwm shouln't b there, unless u flash with initial root flasher.

Version is not important, it shud match to kernel. If it not matching, it will give you notice, 'you hav limited function, update it'
If you comparing cwm v5 of rom manager, that is different thing n won't work on note.
Cwm comes along with kernel, u cant select mamually. Mine is lc1 latest still cwm is 3.15. So if it working fine thn it is perfact. N you hav flash cf root kernel with initial root flasher, thn it must b perfact. (confirm in setting - about phone -.kernel

Use sytem app remover to remove cerberus.
zergrush exploit structure mimics trojen, n gives false alarm as virus. Just ignore it.

Edit : yes u need to remove adminiatration right for cerberus to uninstall.(setting-location n security-select device administrator)

You made me curious and to experience I've downgraded back and re-applied steps 1 to 4.
- downgrade back to KJ1 using ODIN (CWM avaliable and CF-R00t 5.0)
- flashed CF Root for KJ1 using InitialCFRoot (CWM available and CF Root 5.0)
- flashed CF Root LA6 using InitialCFRoot (CWM, CF Root 5.0, baseband 2.3.5)
- flashed latest firmware LA6 for NL using CWM (CWM, CF Root 5.0, baseband 2.3.6)

Wrt version of CWM I was confused with ClockWorkMod which is version 5.
And thanks for the removal tip, that was the trick.

I have just got my note and done the following

(1) Using ODIN flashed a a pre-rooted LA6 rom

this gives me root, i have checked by running the superuser app. it works. Enabling root options on File Expert. This works as i can see the request in the superuser log

(2) Dowloaded the LA6 cf-root kernel from this thread.

(3) Using mobile odin pro flashed this kernel. It seems to work, however there is no CWM manager. Also when i run superuser it appears that the apk has been replaced
as i get the initial version info. I have checked and am still definately rooted.

(4) Using script (already-rooted.bat) and adb from this thread flashed this kernel. It seems to work, however there is no CWM manager. Also when i run superuser it appears that the apk has been replaced

Does anyone know why i cant get cwm? I want to back up my device before flashing other roms.

Get cf root kernel n extract zimage from it.
Copy zimage to sd catd
select kernel from mobile odin, point to zimage file n flash.
You wil get cwm, n can nandroid backup after this.
