I think this was answered in the OP just not in a way I understand... Can we use another Kernel with this, in particular, the stock repacked with CWM? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can and the latest stock w/ CWM has init.d support, so the battery saver script plus others will work

Anyone flash this running CWM 5.0.2.7? I wiped user/dalv/cache and flashed fine. I let it try booting for a good 15 minutes before battery pulling. I can't seem to get back into recovery at this point. I can get into odin mode so I should be able to get back to stock when I get home.
