Is there a way to backup the phone in order to try this? I know I used to have Titanium Backup when I was rooted on my Desire HD, but I haven't dared to root this device just in case I do have to return it.

with my Gnote whenever i take pictures in low light, watch movies that are in dark scene i see purple shadow. When i transfer the pic to my computer it looks fine without any purple shadow. also if you wanna check if ur Gnote has this problem go to google.com and search for Black wallpaper. and flip thru those black wallpapers if they look normal then your's don't have this problem. with my phone almost all of those black wallpaper in google has Purple Shadow over some parts of the wallpaper....

I think you're referring to a different issue mate.

I've just tried something and it seems to be working so far:
In the settings/display menu I have turned off "Auto adjust screen power" and in "brightness" I have set the screen to the brightest, and so far the hue changing issues do not seem to be apparent.

Thank you denialnw10 but if i have to visit an eye doctor after reading a passage or an ebook, Id rather sell this thing and buy something else.
Adjusting the brightness to the max would only seem right on August, midday, on the beach on some Greek island. Otherwise, its torture for the eyes. Not to mention battery consumption.
For the record though, yes the problem is less apparent in high brightness and more obvious on low, indoor brightness. Which is exactly the one we use more.
I think the only hope on this issue, is some sort of super-update via Samsung.
Or else....
We"ll just have to live with it!
Until we change the devise that is....

Hello everyone, I think I have the same problem...

http://imageshack.us/g/685/bild4ht.jpg/

The one to the left was the first Galaxy Note I received from amazon.de, it got dead pixels within a few days and the one to the right is the replacement amazon sent me. Sadly, that one has some problems too as can be seen on the photos. Both phones are suffering from this "burn-in" effect (or whatever you call it) but the new one I got is worse than the first one. I wonder, should I contact amazon for a new replacement or should I just send them back for a refund and forget that the galaxy note ever existed? Would Samsung do anything to fix this...?

I really don't know what to do...

If I were u my friend, Id get a refund!!!
Just tell them its the second devise with a problem and denand a refund.
Or else contact ur local official samsung dealer and see what they have to say.
Guarantees are worldwide no matter where u bought the devise, as long as u have the receipt.
If I could get a refund, I would, without a 2nd thought!

My Note has the same issues, first noticed it while browsing the market. I got mine from Vodafone Germany.
