Default A few questions

So im hoping to change to ATT soon since verizon is getting just too expensive. (4 smartphone = 300 bucks due to one family member speaking a lot compared to 220 on att)

First time im looking through ATT phones and I am very happy to see some awesome phones, but just confused like hell. I did ask a few people in the skyrocket thread about comparison but I want to confirm a few thigns regarding the SGII.

I know there are some acronyms for the original one, att one, and etc, but how do you get the original one on ATT, is it only by purchasing phones full price? Also how is the battery life. After having the thunderbolt on Verizon, I want a phone with better battery life, but does it last at least 1-2 days untouched?

Im just trying to find reasons to justify the SGII vs the skyrocket.

Thanks for any suggestions or help.

Seeing as there is no LTE in Ohio, I'd say stick to the OG Galaxy S II. The only benefit the Skyrocket has is LTE, otherwise it's a downgrade in CPU/GPU processing power, and the resolution is stretched out over a bigger screen.

If the choices are original sgs II and skyrocket, the original sgs II will have better battery life. Impossible otherwise just based of hardware, especially lte.

Depending on your use it may be very hard to get an android to last as long as you're looking. Very possible. There's many threads on things you can do to extend battery life.

When you say OG, is it any different than the AT&T one? Since thats the only one I saw at AT&T store. Also can you give me a number regarding battery life? (I know it depends on how much you use it, but still would like a basic idea)

Edit: just read here on xda owners of skyrockets are getting good battery life.

Og is original generation. That's the forum we're in for the att version. Att only has two, the most recent being the skyrocket, for some reason it's been lumped in with the og here on xda.

For me I was averaging 10 to 14 hours. Not ideal for me. I usually go from 9am to 2am. So this is what I did:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1317993

And I haven't looked back. I can use this phone so much all day long and the battery easily lasts. That plus entropy512's kernel, setcpu undervolted settings, and juice defender ultimate set to only allow auto sync to run every 20 min. It wouldn't be hard at all to hit 2 days, potentially 3. But I use my phone too often to even want to try.

Just recently I had the normal battery and back in and I didn't like it. I had gotten used to the feel and extra weight. It's literally the same thickness as an atrix with a cover on.

Its so nice never having to worry about the battery. I can't recommend it enough.

Though it's worth saying I didn't have juicedefender ultimate setup when I was using the stock battery or setcpu undervolting.
