Notification Spam? sounds like you might be the unlucky victim of "AirPush". It gets loaded with some software, one to mention is some of the themes in golauncher. Use "AirPush Detector" from the market to get rid of it. The spam was driving me batty till I found out what was causing it. also, "AirPush Detector" gives you the option of removing the offending software.

I have 5.5, but I installed the Samurai 1.2.6 kernel. My phone was extremely slow at times. I updated to the latest Samurai 2.0.x kernel and now it seems to be doing better.

It seems not matter what ROM I use, it takes forever for my phone to settle down after a reboot. If it launch an app too soon, it kills the GUI env (no boot logo) and reloads, rescans, etc. I think it has something to do with so many of my apps on the SD card (anywhere between 86 to 100). It takes forever to scan. I wonder if it eats up a lot of RAM while it is doing it. If I am patient and let it do its thing for a few minutes, then I'm fine... no killing of the GUI env.

Not hard at all. In windows doubleclick the roms zip file. It should open up. Open the system folder. Then open the app folder. Copy the apk file into the app folder. The file should automatically compress. Close everything and the rom is ready to be put on you sd card to flash.

What version are you running? I might have it already done for you to download. I have v5.0 with the calendar and calculator installed ready to download on mediafire.
