I just want to ask if I can manually update my phone (Epic 4G) to gingerbread if it's rooted?? Please reply ASAP!

Yes, but you'll need CWM purple to do it.

I'd strongly recommend these steps for Gingerbread. It won't be quite stock (nubernel kernel, gps fixes), but it incorporates all the useful fixes.

1. Odin back to stock EC05
2. Install CWM "purple" (3.1.0.1)
3. (Optional) Upgrade to ACS Recovery 1.0.0.5 CWM4 based
4. Flash this EI22 Rom (It will apply all the fixes (GPS, noCIQ, etc) and root the phone)
5. Flash the EI22 modem
6. Enjoy GB on your phone!
