[Q] Wasting Credit

I bought my boyfriend the samsung galaxy fit for his birthday last month. As much as he loves the phone it seems to be wasting all his credit. He is on pay as you go (Orange). He hasnt been on the internet for a while as it was using all his credit and at the moment all he is using it for is texting people. However his £10 top-up only seems to last a couple of days. He doesnt even text that much.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to why this is happening and if there is anything we can do? We have checked his settings and that the internet is off etc but we cant find the problem.

Will be very grateful if anybody could give me any suggestions as to what the problem maybe thankyou.

iam now expert but under setting > wireless and networks > mobile networks

turn of packet data , data roamin and on only use 2g

setting > wireless and networks > accounts and sync allso turn off background data and auto sync

setting > wireless and networks > appllication settings > samsung apps wifi only

ofcourse might be diffrent on your phone and i cant remember where you switch off auto update on market apps

allso try use wifi rather than 3g for internet etc
