Default CWM, when I try to select any option the text disappears

I flashed a cwm kernel and I can get into it fine. When I select any option on the menu (using the power button) though, my screen goes blank except for the cwm logo in the background.

I googled and saw this occurs some with phones that have trackpads but obviously the gs2 does not. Can anyone give me a tip? I already tried flashing it again, flashing back to stock and flashing cwm a third time.

HOME key... not the power button to execute what you highlighted with the volume +/- buttons.

Reading the entire OP before doing something that can brick your phone FTW.

Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
i-mate JAQ > HTC 8525 > iPhone 3G > iPhone 3GS (it was a dark time in my life, I was confused) > Palm Pre > HTC Aria > Samsung Captivate > LG Thrill > Samsung Focus > Samsung Galaxy S II (I777) > HTC One X > Samsung Galaxy Note II (I317) + HP TouchPad

I'm not sure which OP you're referring to--I didn't see any reference to that in http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1286432

But either way, thank you for the help, I appreciate it.

Of course you didn't, since flashing that will remove CWM from your phone if you had it. That post says NOTHING about CWM because it doesn't install CWM, and in fact will remove it if present.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1285823 however, DOES have proper instructions.

A few opinions on kernel development "good practices"
