No. Because the only carrier that will use it is Verizon. And its CDMA/LTE so it can't really be purchased "unlocked". You can just buy it unsubsidized directly from Verizon.

Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Motorola Xoom WiFi
T-Mobile HTC G2

Unlocked, lte, verizon, cdma all dont belong in the same sentence. Or paragraph for that matter.

I think in the past there have been phones that were able to work on both Verizon and Sprint's CDMA networks? It doesn't seem like that happens anymore these days, viz. the iPhone 4S.

I wonder if there ever has been a CDMA phone that works on both Verizon/Sprint and China Telecom's CDMA network. Or any CDMA network in a non-US country for that matter.

To make money in the market for people who want world phones.

CDMA worldphones is a very small niche though, so I wouldn't be surprised if such a thing was never made.

They make more money from a phone that can only work on their network. They get paid for the device and the service. Its not in Verizon's best interest to let Motorola make phones for them that also work on Sprint.

You are referring to carriers when you say "they." I was referring to phone manufacturers. In this case the carriers' interests and the phone manufacturers' interests aren't necessarily aligned. Of course carriers have considerable market power over phone makers so that's another reason why such a device might not exist. I didn't explicitly state this reason because it's obvious to most people.

On another note, though, I think Verizon might have an interest in selling CDMA worldphones that locks out Sprint but allows it to work on, for example, China Telecom. But again this is a very small niche and I don't know if it's something Verizon has ever done.

WCDMA and CDMA2000 used by Verizon are totally different standards.
