So there is no way to get the Market working without the Fire being rooted?

I don't think so. I rooted (takes about 2 minutes if that), got everything working, deleted some bloatware and then unrooted...

Everything looks good...

So it's ok to root then unroot and the Market will still work after you unroot it? Sorry new to the Android OS not very familiar with it.

works and looks GREAT, thanks a TON......now to get the original keyboard settings.....

Are you still able to use the Amazon Instant Video services? I use Prime and really enjoy some of the things that are on AIV that aren't on Netflix. I'd like to root to add the Google apps and Android market, but I'm not willing to lose my access to AIV.

I rooted, installed the market, then unrooted, and it's working fantastic for me.

I tried RootExplorer, but it is not letting me set the system folder nor its subfolders as r/w and none of the permissions settings I apply seem to stick. Sigh.

just root install the apps and then unroot =)
