Default So much 3G.

My rezound seems to go to 3G a lot! It has absolutely no issues with the hand off, it just seems to use 3G a lot more than it needs too. Anyone else notice this?

Very odd, mine stays on 4g most of the time (houston is absolutely blanketed in 4g) but i do see 3g more than I did with the thunderbolt (this is just a feeling.)

Of course, there could have been network issues as well, who knows.

You might already know about it, but there is a free app in the Market called LTE OnOff. The app gives you more options with regards to LTE/3G. By default the phone is set to CDMA(3G) + LTE. With this option, it checks for availability and sets it appropriately. If you are in an area that the LTE is not really strong yet, that might be part of the reason it is switching so much. You could use the app to set it to LTE w/Voice option and see if it sticks with LTE better. I came from the Thunderbolt and had to use the app frequently as I was told having it set to the either/or option also used more battery because of the polling it would do to see what network it should be on. I am not sure if the battery concerns are still an issue with the Rezound. I know when I am trying to get more battery life from the phone, I set my to CDMA auto (PRL) so that it only uses 3G since the LTE can be a battery killer.
CURRENT PHONE: VZW Galaxy S III

Thanks, I'm in Houston. It's a big city and we've had very strong 4g for a while now. My thunderbolt stays on 4G all day long.
