HTC Gallery (Photos) App Has Problems
I just sent the following issue to HTC support. I noticed that when I typed in the title, I got several other posts from XDA forums about the same or similar problems. So, it seems to be an ongoing HTC issue. It's not the biggest problem in the world, but I need to be able to show the pictures in a particular order - the order that I took them.
"I took a number of photos with the Vivid camera over a period of an hour and a half at several different locations. However, when I viewed them in the Gallery app that came with the phone, the images did not display in the order that I took them. I could find no way in the Gallery to sort the images by date/time. This made it difficult to communicate to others the situations and scenes I had taken. the Gallery app should display the photos in the order they were taken."

Another annoying issue is that every app that I had downloaded had it's own folder in the Gallery. I've never seen that on my other Androids. I had to go in & hide each, plus go back in anytime I download a new app = Very annoying bug!

Also, I use touchdown email. Every email I get that has a picture in the sig gets its own folder too. If I get 2 emails from John Doe with a picture in his sig, I have 2 folders, each with the same pic in it.
Another user pointed out in another thread that in the default gallery you're unable to "share" (send to fb, twitter, etc) with the default gallery too.
Samsung Galaxy S3 and Motorola Xoom.

Got QuickPic
I installed the QuickPic app from the Market (free with no ads). It's simple but it displays the photos in the correct order.
As to the extra folders, QuickPic was also showing the same folders as the HTC Gallery. What's happening is that apps store images in various places for use by their programs. The Gallery and QuickPic by default find all folders containing images. QuickPic provides the ability to exclude a folder from displaying. Better yet, in Settings/Browser, you can select what folders to include, e.g. the DCIM folder on your external SD card. That way, you get only the photos you take with your camera. Of course, other folders can be included.

+1 QuickPic, using it for a long time, and on all my previous devices.

is there a way when you take a picture with your camera, to have the little window at the top that shows the gallery/pictures to open the quick pic app? like if I wanted to SHARE the picture or send it to FB/Twitter etc? It's a pain to take the pic, close the camera, open quick pic, navigate to the dir, find the pic, just to send it. It shouldn't be that hard.
Samsung Galaxy S3 and Motorola Xoom.

You don't have that option already?

Touchdown has a setting to prevent attachments from showing up in your gallery. Look under the advanced tab. Exclude attachments from gallery.

In the default gallery? no. When I am in camera mode, and touch the picture(Gallery) to open the pictures and view them, there's no way to "share" them. The options I have are:
Set as (contact icon, favorite, wallpaper, etc)
Slideshow
Select Player
Print
Details
No "share" or "send to" options. Do you have share options?
