Vivid/Raider Camera vs Amaze Camera?

Hey guys,

I've seen the HTC Amaze marketed to have the best smartphone camera (8mp, f/2.2). These seem to be the same specs for the HTC Vivid/Raider camera.

So does anyone know if they are actually the same camera?

I have the HTC Raider, and went to check out the HTC Amaze demo unit at a Telus store. I'm no photographer or camera expert, so take this as a perspective from your everyday consumer. They pretty much look the same, with the only difference coming from how they use different screens. They both focus on close ups identically too. The Amaze has better audio quality though.

The camera on the Vivid is fantastic. It's the best camera I've had on a smartphone and I've had the Galaxy S2, Nexus S, EVO 4G, Epic, Droid X and Atrix. It's even on par with the iPhone 4s. Shutter lag is non-existent and the quality is amazing. Really impressed.

I'll echo that. I fooled around with pic taking today and the camera is amazing. It's extremely fast with "vivid" colors.

I am also a fan of the default cam app. It's got the features I want in a simple GUI.

Is there a way to use the amaze camera app on the vivid. Considering they use the same camera but the software on the vivid is missing things that the amaze software has
