Default Need HELP: 2.3.6 bug?

Updated SR with the OTA 2.3.6 update... everything "appeared" to go perfectly. However, I just noticed my "Brightness" control in Display Settings is now greyed-out... can't change the display brightness. To further add to the mystery, when I plug into the AC power, the Brightness control is functional; however, as soon as I disconnect from AC power, the Brightness control goes back to being greyed out and cannot be adjusted.

Anyone else run into this after the 2.3.6 update? I was rooted with stock recovery when I did the update... after update, remained rooted and everything worked perfectly.. EXCEPT when I noticed the Brightness control was greyed-out. Any suggestions on how I can regain display brightness control when running on battery power? Thx

Yes, I had Automatic Brightness checked... but couldn't uncheck it once the control got disabled. After a full re-charge, the Brightness option is no longer greyed-out under battery power Does anyone know if this functionality gets disabled when battery gets below 15%? What's odd however is that when it got disabled, the screen went to full brightness...then couldn't be managed, so counterintuitive on what it should be doing under low battery conditions! One would think it would dim to 10% brightness first, then disable the Brightness functionality (if in fact the stock ROM/kernel does disable brightness function at low battery conditions).

You might have the power management settings turned on....you can set it to automatically do things after the battery drops below a certain point (such as 20, 15, 10%). Sounds like what might have happened. I haven't noticed any changes due to the update.

Power mgmt was and still is off. It just happened again. Seems like when battery drops below 10%, the Brightness option gets greyed - out and cannot be used. I don't have any other power mgmt apps loaded, so it must be new to 2.3.6. Can anyone else (on OTA 2.3.6) confirm when battery level drops below 10%, your Brightness contol gets greyed-out?

I had that with the 2.3.6 update. Below 10% I couldn't adjust brightness with the stock setting, or with any 3rd party app. it started out full dim, then at around 5% went full bright. The battery saver feature was disabled. I've returned the phone, and I'm not updating my new Skyrocket.
