That is something I would try. I would hope that a usb jig would still work if you pooched the loaders, but I would proceed with a lot of reading and caution first.

As you point out - that thread is full of folks that have been bricked.
flashing darkys did the trick..now just finding it impossible to get into dowload mode..have triead all combos i could find..hmmm

I found the same thing, couldn't get into recovery using the 3 button combo while running Darky 10.2 RE. Had to boot into recovery via the extended menu, flash to MIUI and then flash to Onecosmic's ICS. Flashing ICS from Darky's resulted in a boot loop with some text scrolling by which was too fast to read.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate (SGH-T959D)
Rom: Onecosmic ICS 4.0.3 RC4.2
Kernel: Semaphore 0.8.1

Wacky - so in coming from MIUI on the reboot option in ICS - do you have the ability to boot to DOWNLOAD mode?

Same here..no boot loops tho. Was able to flash cna no problem after darky . It fixed the kernel splash issue but no more reboot options in the rom and can't get download mode anymore...recovery combo works tho.. I've seen a lot about the gb bootloaders having troubles..others are asking about bootloaders in the icy glitch thread so maybe we'll get an answer there?
