I'd been using Blazer 4.1 for GB for a few months, and maybe I was spoiled, because I never had an issue with it.
After months of watching (and resisting the temptation of) various ICS leaks, I finally took the plunge w/FF18 and this ROM. I'm not a flashaholic by any means, but I've been frustrated with 4G reception and GPS-lock issues since I purchased the device, and thought I'd give this a shot.
The Positive: While signal strength under most circumstances appears to be lower with this ROM and the FF18 modem, surprisingly 4G AND GPS lock now appear to have improved. I realize there may be no scientific basis for this, but this does seem to be the case.
The Negative (and where I need help): This ROM freezes on me several times a day. The most common occurrence is when I click the power button to unlock the screen, but it also occurs within applications just as often. Occasionally it 'works itself out', but most times, if I wait, the device eventually reboots.
Note that the freezes are not occurring when toggling wi-fi, 4G, or airplane mode (as seems to be the case for some).
The only other information I can add is that I had a heck of a time recovering many of my apps after upgrading from Blazer 4.1. Titanium froze when restoring about 60% of apps. Usually when that happened, I used Titanium to selectively restore from a Nandroid backup, which worked for about 50% of the problem apps (I wonder if all these restoration issues may have damaged the apps or the ROM).
-- Is this an issue that many others are having? Paging through the forums I've read of random Force Closes (I'm not having these), but not persistent freezes and reboots
-- Any suggestions? Should I start over and reload ROM? (if this is a known problem that would just be a waste of time).
There are probably a bunch that will work with this rom. However, EL26 stock is not one of them. It is a GB based kernel and it's what we use when flashing to and from ICS. I think this probably applies to flashing ICS kernels too.
If you want to know more about kernels go see Rwilco12 at the Kernel Repository and let him know you are on a stock FF18 build. Don't forget to thank him while you're there:

Ok let's see. I'd start at the bottom, yes go ahead and odin back to Stock EL26 CWM by Chris41G, do the format all twice (just to be sure) and reflash the rom.
The freezing and stuff shouldn't be happening.
As for the titanium restores, try going into settings/storage and unmounting the external SD first before you try doing batch restores again. And it should be App only, no data. You can always go back for the several things you need data for.
I'm pretty sure you will be fine but its always a good idea to make a backup first. Just curious, how did you like Ruj's rom and the updater?

I like it a lot. It was really slick and stable and the updater was super easy to use. I was in a flashing binge and when I got to this rom it just stopped. I don't know what appeals to me so much about this rom. I guess it's the simplicity and subtle themeing and EVERYTHING works. I really like the stock look and feel. Thank you for answering my question!

Now, I notice that he has a lot of flashable mods. Doesn't some of it overwrite and conflict with the others. You'll notice when I post something, I always try to include a way back. I also try to point out when one mod may overwrite another. My point being, doesn't all that binge flashing get you to the point where you are so deep in and confused, you just gotta flash back to the base build just to clear your head. LOL

Here's a real XDA newbie question.
Why can't I start a new thread?
Whether I click on Quick Reply or Post Reply, it always adds to the bottom of the previous post if I am the previous person to post a quoted reply.
(See it just did it)
I know the link is down for Blazer 4.1 GB rom. Here is a link to it from my Dropbox. Please be aware that this is a limited time offer. If it's not there anymore, well you missed your chance. I'm not going to leave it up there forever.

Thanks, that's kinda what I thought.
For those who may be experiencing problems too:
- I moved my Titanium backup from the external SD card to the internal, re-flashed the ROM, re-established my Google Play account. Interestingly, Google auto re-loaded many of the apps.
- Unmounted the SD card, loaded Titanium (and key), changed the default for Titanium backups to the Internal card (found the existing backup).
- Used Titanium to restore all apps that had previously not been restored by Google (app only); may be worth noting that I did not restore my launcher (Go Launcher) until the end
- Used Titanium's batch mode to selectively restore app Data (only) to those apps where I knew that personalized (e.g. login, customization, etc) information existed.
- Mount the SD Card
- Reload and configure launcher (Go Launcher)
- Boot to recovery, clear all caches, re-boot.
It's only been a couple hours, and most of that has been spent configuring widgets, my desktop, and other housekeeping, but it's worth noting that with all of this activity, there have been no freezes or lockups yet (fingers crossed)
I have dl'd Phantom Blazer LF9-sprintg3gd1.3 and Calkulins format all for e4gt. I was on ics rom and switched my rcovery to cwm 5.0.2.7. Did the format and installed rom and still no go. I have the ephic touch 4g for sprint. Every time my phone boots it says Samsung Galaxy sII gt l9100 and stays there for as long as 40 min untill I finally reboot into recovery.

I'm glad you added that last part but I have bad news for you my friend. It looks like somewhere along the way you flashed the wrong thing.
Please follow these instructions to see if the phone will flash back to stock rooted and if it works, report back and we can go from there:
