I have been getting a lot of sleep deaths lately. I am on build 14. Any quick fix, maybe another kernel? Flash back to stock then reflash?

This issue has been discussed for the last 10 pages. There are 2 different test kernels, and glitch v14, that all supposedly resolve the issue. Please at least read the past page or two before posting, as this issue has been a hot topic for almost a week.

I'm running the latest Glitch kernel and my phone is OC'd to 1.3GHz. I'm using the regular Samsung 1500mah battery...
I'm getting a minimum of 2 days, and 3 hours screen time, right after flashing. Try to do a fresh install:
  1. Flash back to stock
  2. Wipe Everything
  3. You know the rest

could someone explain to me the low memory notification/ how to get rid of it? Thanks!!
If it helps im with Icy Glitch build 14 and build 14 for the rom
If it's the low memory notification that plagues many, it is because the /datadata folder is reaching capacity. The folder is only 172MB large which allows things to be much faster on the phone. And this should be more than enough unless you are an app hoarder (like 150 apps). However, there are glitches with this. Here is my story and my fix:

Get the Disk Usage app and look at the /datadata partition. In my case I had over 100 MB taking up by 'system data' and all of my apps (like 80) were only taking up 38 MB. The 'system data' could not be gotten rid of... not by reformatting, clean installing, etc..

I finally fixed everything by flashing back to stock (kept root) and doing a master clear through Odin. THEN everything was clean. I was sure to back up EVERYTHING as the move to stock and master clear leaves like 4 folders on the SD card.

But I was able to get CWM and flash ICS etc with little to no 'system data' in my /datadata folder. Now I have the same number or more apps than before yet have over 70 MB free in the /datadata folder. Another good app to keep track of cache and user data is 1-tap cleaner - highly recommended.

Why was there so much unmovable 'system data'? It's unclear, but some tests and sources point to running batch restores through tibu. I wouldn't blame this 100%, but I've cut down on the amount I do of those and keep track of that folder much more closely now.

I hope that helps... not a super easy answer, but was a super breath of fresh air for the amount of time I took tracking down the issue

Good luck!

lol I would love to profit but I cannot find it in there. I know on stock 2.3.5 it was in the messaging settings but I am not seeing it there anymore or in the call settings

Alright homey, if you want to see results, calibrate the sucker. Also 1.3 oc might make the phone snappier at the expense of battery life.

I upgraded from CM7 w/ glitch v13.1 kernel yesterday evening to this and ran it all day.

I noticed that I get no vibration at all. Haptic feedback is there and unlock vibration, but nothing for notifications

EDIT: also using the glitch v14 kernel @ 1.4Ghz

Gentlemen.
I believe this is the thread you are looking for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1459576

THS have said time and time again not to post bugs using other kernels because it's very difficult to bugfix something that you aren't actually developing.

I would suggest you reflash the stock kernel, and if your problem persists, then, and only then post here.

For all tbose with sleep death and or charge death there has to be a root cause for you all that is similiar. Maybe for those that have it state a few things to see if there is commonality. I am assuming it is something pretty specific or i am just really lucky as I have not bad either ever through all the builds.
What bootloaders do you have?
What phone build date do you have?
Etc. Maybe anything like what kernel you using? Maybe even what apps are you using? Like do you have installed a bln app? Tasker? Juice defender? Anything other than what the stock rom comes with. What is the 100 or 200Mhz millivolts reading on your phone? What voltage are you running it at? What app you using to increase or decrease the voltages? Are you changing the gpu also? Etc.

I am using the first released Captivate bootloaders. Mine is a 1007 build. I do not use any of the apps i listed above except Voltage Control paid version. I do not use any scripts. I use only the stock kernel. I have not had ANY lockups, sleep or cbarge deaths ever. Maybe we can figure this out with more data than Hey I have this or I have that. It may help the devs to isolate the problems along with any data logs you can get. By the looks of it, it is very rampant so I am trying to figure out why I dont have any of the issues. Possibly it is a minority but it is listed on every page recently.
