[Q] no wimax in oklahoma for 4g users

hi i hardly ever post on this site but have been with this site for a few years now.
i am upset with sprint for as it apears we wont get 4g where i live. i had the evo 4g when it came out and bought my wife the epic 4g and i bought the evo 3d when it came out and also the evo view 4g tablet when it came out and bought my son in law a htc 4g device before thanksgiving. i have been getting dropped calls like crazy on my evo 3d lately when i finally decided to call sprint. I talked with one of there reps about my problem and as she started to help me with my phone i jumped on the conversation about wimax in oklahoma. She knew about clearwire running out of funds and no more wimax towers being put up and sprint rolling out lte devices in 2012. and she briefly stated in so many words that these 4g devices are useless where i am at as far as 4g goes. However we do have a 4g tower close where i stay but it is not from sprint!!! I called them earlier this year about 4g signal on my evo 4g and they said it was a tower of some other company i was hitting on. if you go to sprint website and check there 4g coverage map you can se there is no 4g in oklahoma city. My complaint is i have wimax devices that will be and already is outdated wher i am at according to sprint. my wife cant get 4g on her epic neither does my tablet get 4g because it is not sprints wimax towers. The point is i bought these devices under the assumption of 4g data speeds and never recieved its services from sprint and under the contract of wimax devices i feel i have been cheated and so do many other 4g device owners who where promised wimax speeds to there high end devices. And as far as the extra 10 dollars a month i pay for each line is a bunch of bull. Sprint says its a premium data charge for unlimited data use as these high end devices process a lot of data. when you get a max of 1.5 mbps on a good day sometimes 2 on 3g you call that premium? The rep from sprint that i talked to today said she was sorry and gave me there headquarters email address and told me to email them and they most likey will reimburse me. But i might not except that offer and take it a little further with a lawyer on this one. this seems like a lawsuit on sprint from many other promised wimax device owners who bought these phones and where promised wimax network use. Are there others in cities who where promised as well?

Sprint marketed wimax as it's new 4G network like everyone would get it eventually. I don't think they actually promised anyone they'd get it but there was assumption everyone would. It's hardly worth having anyway because the band they put wimax on hardly penetrates a single wall.

You are right, and they did not promise us this, but with high expectations of using these phones for those speeds I and others never used the network capabilities. That these phones have.
