[Q] Analog audio output through Micro-USB port
I think someone may have asked this before but for the life of me I can't find the thread, so please excuse me starting another one.
Has anyone tried to get analog audio output through the Micro-USB port of the Galaxy Nexus? This would provide a line-level audio output that might provide marginally better audio quality than the headphone port for non-headphone audio systems like powered speakers.
The Galaxy S II phones are able to output analog audio through the Micro-USB port using the two USB data pins when it detects a specific resistance on the ID pin. Of course when it's doing this, USB data won't work but the USB power pins can still be used to charge the phone. This is how docks like http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cel...ECR-D1D3BEGSTA get the audio output to the 3.5mm jack.
I'm curious if this works with the Galaxy Nexus too. Perhaps someone who has a Galaxy S II/Nexus S dock with analog audio output or a Micro-USB to analog audio adapter cable can try to see if the dock/adapter works with the Galaxy Nexus to get analog audio out of it?
