Default Won't stop reverting back to stupid AT&T ringtone...

I'm sure everyone hates the stupid AT&T ringtone, and if you don't you should. About once a day my phone reverts back to that abomination of a ringtone, after I have changed it to a different ringtone--one that doesn't make me want to pile drive my phone into the concrete.

It's as if it wants to spite me because I can find no apparent reason why it's doing this.. I've tried a couple of things: 1) restarting the phone and having someone call me when it starts back up (this ended up not being the cause) 2) letting it lay around for hours and then checking, which sometimes ends with relief that it hasn't chosen that satan-conjuring jingle, but sometimes not..

Anyone have any idea what in the blazes is going on?

I've noticed it happening to mine on occasion, too, for no apparent reason.

Are you using a different stock ringtone? Or one from your sd card? If you remove you're sd card for something or connect via PC, it can happen. It could also happen if you use an app that accesses your sound. For instance, it was happening to me when I used handcent messenger. It's a great app, but once I uninstalled, it stopped happening.

I was using the one called "Modular Light"--pretty sweet one... I'm not sure of any app I'm using that needs to access my sound settings.. What I'm trying now is a custom sound set that I created by going into the personalization menu.. so far today I've received 3-4 calls and it hasn't chosen enrage me with that smut.. we shall see...

Mine gets reset back to the default "AT&T ringtone" sometimes, after reboots or connecting to PC via USB port -- very irritating.

Is there a way to disable the default "AT&T ringtone" using a temp root?
Nothing is simple
