Default Marware leather case

When I pre-ordered the Fire I also order this case. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...02_i00_details
I am very happy with it's fit and quality. It has a hand strap on it and a very minimal mounting system so it doesn't interfere with the touch screen.

I'm all for people protecting their investments, but I really think Marware are taking advantage here. $45 is nearly 25% of the cost of the hardware. It certainly seems to be the Monster Cable of cases!

The KF has a rubberized back, and Gorilla Glass, so the only real reason for having a case is for the stand, and for that you can buy cases for less than $10

Each to their own I guess, and I'm pleased that people are generally happy with it, but watch this video if you don't believe how protected this thing is!

That video makes me feel better about having nothing on my fire.

I think it is interesting that the guy who made the video had it in the marware case.

Didnt see the video yet but I can attest to how well Gorilla glass is. My galaxy s phone has it, and Ive had it for a little over a year now, no case or so, just a hip pouch.
There is only 1 scratch on it, at the bottom near the home button, and it was there when I bought it used from someone. Only now I'm getting 2 scratches on the plastic frame, still nothing on the glass.

I wasn't planning on getting a case because it's pretty obvious how rugged the KF is, but my brother got me the green leather Marware case and it really is nice. I feel like my KF truly is bulletproof now, lol.
Would I spend 25% of the cost of a KF on one? Not a chance. I don't think cases should ever be more than like $15. I ran onto the same issue with my OG nook and it was super annoying.
