[Q] How to flash phone, clean as from factory?

I wanted to know how to flash my G3 5801 with froyo but with no bootloops or anything.. as they say

and cleaned dalvik cache, or so
I am not pro but know just one or two things.. but want to flash my phone clean, as it was out of box..

is simple Odin flash does that or i should do something extra?

If you are using a custom ROM right now than you can go into recovery wipe everything and then flash a stock ROM. There is a code to wipe date/factory reset your phone as well. Go on youtube and there should be a tutorial but it's shown on a galaxy S. It will work on our phones also. I have tried it many times.

btw, i probably should start a new thread for this
but i installed Kies .. updated it to latest fix version
and connected my phone
It says

unable to connect to gt-i5801. failed to retrieve device information

I had installed all .net framework req, Samsung USB device drivers
can plz help as to what should i do now?

PS: sorry, got it working
just did factory reset on phone and tried connecting .. it worked
