Default [Q] flashing a kernel with odin

If I am using odin to flash a new kernel, do I put the file in the pda slot or phone slot?

Also does anything else need to be checked / unchecked.

Reason I ask is I am probably going to flash a rom that uses base kernel and will be losing root. I will need to flash a different kernel to get root back.

thanks

DONATE TO ME
Put it in the PDA slot, click whatever it says to start it up (can't remember.) And you're good to go!

I am preparing to check out KL2 and had a similar question... Do I just use the zImage directly from a recent entropy DD, hellraiser, etc or do I need to package it in a .tar?
