Problems with backup after root

However, i'm about to install CM7 on it, and i wanted a Nandroid backup (ClockworkMod ROM Manager, right?) of my original rom first. Seems like i'll have to install ClockworkMod Recovery first to be able to make a backup. Ok, let's go, but wait, something is wrong. Seems like the CWM doesn't gain root access, and can't continue. I've been looking for some permission controls in GingerBreak, but can't find anything like that. Why do i experience this? Oh, BTW, this is on a LG Optimus Black... EDIT: Never mind, i didn't get the timed question in the end of the process, lol.
