Thumbs down How to turn that f**** auto correct off?

I`m going to throw this bloody crap against a wall

I have unticked box in Language&Input-->Spelling Correction, but it still replaces words as I type sms

hold down the Mic button on the keyboard and release it on the settings button, choose Android keyboard settings.

the options you seek are there.
Nexus 4 mako, 16GB, stock Android 4.2 JOP40C occam
Nexus 7 grouper, 32GB, stock Android 4.2 JOP40C nakasi

Alternatively you can go to Settings -> Language & input -> Android Keyboard Settings -> Auto-correction -> Off

Press and hold the comma button, you can change it to the mic I believe, you can also access the settings from there.

Is anyone else also annoyed that Google still thinks "ill" is more commonly typed than "I'll"? There's no easy way to type "I'll" except to type "ill" and choose "I'll" from the suggestion bar.

It's baffling. Typing "il" also does not auto correct to "I'll."
