Question [Q] From HD7S to TITAN: Need my game saves.

Hey guys.. I'm almost finished with Angry Birds and I upgraded from the HTC HD7S to the HTC TITAN.. I went to windowsphone.com to reinstall my apps, but I have to start at level 1 again. Please tell me there's a way to retrieve my saved info.. I still have that phone but I'm giving it to my dad soon.

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe there is any way to save game data, yet. As far as I know, I have to do the same thing for my Android phones, too, unless Titanium Backup will save game data as well as applications.

I am 90% sure the answer is NO, but check Mirolg's thread in Windows Phone 7 development.

I've used it once for my Titan.

What that tool does is, makes Zune believe that your phone is updating officially. So Zune foolishly will create a back up image of your phone on the computer. After back up is finished it realises that it was stupid and there is no update, but it's too late, so we have a back up image! - it does a WHOLE back up!

Unlike Android, we don't need to 'root' our phone, this just works.

However - I am not sure if this back up can be taken to different make and model of the phone. This is where, Mirolg will be able to help you. He is a very helpful guy. So before throwing your phone away, try this and ask him to help you if there is anything specific.

Thanks a bunch for the info guys.. I was just about to do a hard reset and give it to my pops, but I decided to check back first. I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I'll check with Mirolg just to be sure..

BTW I really like that idea of tricking Zune.. lol..

I think if the game data is stored in isolated storage, you can use those tools to download it it and then upload to the new phone.

Try this: http://wptools.codeplex.com/

You must be developer unlocked and only games that it can enumerate the GUIDs for will work. -- I HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY TRIED THIS
PM me if your are an excellent developer looking for work in the eastern US

Let us know how you get along and what you were able to back up. When I tried I din't even have any games installed so have no input for that.
