Slightly worrying that there's no official Pro+ forum on the Moto site - nor any mention of it on their firmware update page. Hope a good 3rd party ICS ROM comes along soon :)

Nice one edent! I think it can be VERY useful - specially for us PRO+(MB632) owners, as there are no ROMs out there and that can help us start developing our own - at least that is what has been in my head for a little while. Not sure if an SDK simulated will take cooked ROMs though - I have never tried developing one ...but we will soon find out!

Glad to see this thread is getting some decent traffic and responses.
How is everyone finding their Pro+?
I've had mine 3 weeks now, pretty much used to it apart from I keep pressing the touch sensitve buttons above the keyboard when texting/emailing which is slightly annoying.
There's a few things I need to tweak and get to grips with such as setting up profiles etc. just not had time recently.
I'm getting pretty much near on 2 days battery life with average use and about 1 1/2 with heavier use.
What apps would peeps recommend to enable me to customise things a lilttle bit more?

I know what you mean Im pretty new to all this developing too, and it can be extremely complicated but hey, you have to try!
Im finding my PRO+ to be EXCELLENT besides the lack of tweaking/ROMs (a matter of patience only I hope!) Love the fact that has the 2 "MUST" I was looking for - "bar type" QWERTY and fantastic battery live... I took me a while to get used to the keyboard because although the layout and key size are perfect, the pressing is a little bit hard (but I already gotten used to it), but it was annoying at first because I use a BlackBerry Bold for work and the PRO+ as my personal ...but anyway, as I said, already used to it now... Ill post a list of APP in a moment...
...oh, and almost forgot to mention: I have read that DROID2, X and PRO+ should be getting official ICS within the next 5 months or something on those lines - Ill se if I can find the source again...

So, as I was saying, this is a list of the few apps I find most useful:
Since you were mentioning about profiles (and assuming you mean “sound” profiles – but also allowing to tweak brightness, connections, etc.), having tried a whole bunch of them, I find the following to be the best – maybe because before being an Android, I used to be a “Nokia guy”, and this app sort of resembles the profiles from Nokia ...anyway, this is it: MyProfiles (...so good I paid for the non-free version)
Secondly – and although I should have mentioned first as this is MY MOST valuable application: LBE Privacy Guard (...you cant have a rooted Android without this one! Totally free)
Also, and seen how ROM Manager isn’t much use to us seen that there isnt an adequate Bootstrap available to make it run and to be able to install ROMs (if there were any) nor to tweak the phone in general, This one at least allows for some pretty good level of tweaking/customizing: Rom Toolbox (also got the paid version of that)
...more tomorrow, I have to go now...
So now is "tomorrow". Leaving aside the system "modifying" tools and utilities, I also find the following more regular apps very useful and the best within their respective class:
...also, I used to use one (either or) of the 2 following apps with my HTC but for some reason they dont seem to work on my PRO+ - can you guys confirm is the same with you? I find them simple but that yet could be very useful if you lose your found, and a decent person finds it (BlackBerries have this as standard): PhoneFound and ContactOwner
Of all the above, I started using LauncherPRO but soon realized it wasnt enough (besides, it hasnt been updated for aaaaaages...), I then went to ADW ("regular") which was a noticeable step up from LauncherPRO but soon realized it wasnt being updated either so I switched to GoLauncher. GoLauncher was "a little bit too much" and was starting to make my HTC Desire Z laggy, so since ADW (on its revampped version ADW EX) is recently having regular updates again, thats what I switched back to and Im more than happy with it - I find that ADW EX has the best from both words (sort of a mix between the three launchers really...)

Hi everyone, new here. I've had my Pro+ for about two weeks now and am truly impressed. The form factor is just about perfect: screen big enough (and with good resolution) to browse the web and use apps comfortably, but the whole package is still light and compact. The keyboard is great and I've finally trained my fingers to no longer accidentally hit the hotkeys
Not sure if this is the right place to post them, but I have two questions if anyone might have any ideas:
1) Does anyone hear some minor buzzing accompanying any sounds through the earpiece when on a call....more noticeable when earpiece volume is high. As if the speaker is "loose" or something. Seems to possibly be a hardware issue not uncommon on Motorolas/Droids. Funny thing is, sometimes it goes away entirely. It's never entirely too bad, I was just wondering if this is 1) typical characteristic vs. 2) I have a defect (but minor enough in degree that I can live with it).
2) I live in the U.S. and purchased this phone from a UK seller (oh the irony), so I received the version with 3G/HSPA/UMTS/WCDMA only available on 900/2100MHz bands. So, whether I use AT&T or T-Mobile (neither of which have 3G on 900/2100), I only get EDGE speeds. Is there any method/hack/ROM that "unlocks" the 850/1900 3G bands on Motorolas? I only seem to have come across a hack on Samsung phones in my search, but wanted to give it another shot here. I'm willing to put up with it, but EDGE is just so damn slow...

WELCOME ALAVIDA!
Sure it is the right place - at least until we get a proper forum for the PRO+...
1. In my case I hear no buzzing sounds. Actually this is the phone of all which I have own that has the clearest call sound ever - quite amazing really.
Seen the extent of what you explain, I would pull the warranty and get it replaced asap, as it sounds to me like if the ear piece is indeed faulty.
2. Despite being Catalan I live in Ireland and also got my PRO+ from the UK (irony square ) and since all this comes down to programming, Im sure there is a way one could flash the US radio frequencies, I just dont know how as until now, with my HTC DesireZ, I was spoiled for choice and I found a million options out there (ROMs, kernels, radios, etc), but with the PRO+ Im having to go bit by bit and even to the point of attempting to try these things by myself "from zero". I will have a look around and see if I can report something back to you.

Hi everybody,
I'm really interested by this phone, but I'm french, and can't get any informations about the phone's potential availability here.
I would preferably like my usual AZERTY keyboard layout, but I'm not even sure it exists or will exist with this keyboard (the pro for France is nowhere to be found either)
I found a german(ish) site that sells it in euros,
passiontec.fr/_fenster.php?art_id=40079743
as well as a few UK website (where it's more expensive),
but the german has QWERTZ keyboard (even more painful to get used to than regular QWERTY for me). The french canadian version could be a solution also (they have qwerty also), but it seems to be sold only through local carriers (and I don't know about this UMTS/ GSM bisness, I use a GSM sim card).
So in a nutshell, where did you find yours, with what kind of keyboard layout
and do you think, if I buy a german or UK version, that i will be able to switch language to french (I could live with english, german not so much), and also easily add the use of special characters we have here (like é,à...)
thanks
