Question [Q] Outgoing name in stock email app

I've added my Hotmail account to the stock e-mail app, set up as Exchange ActiveSync. I can't however figure out how to change my outgoing name in sent mail. It just shows my mail account name without the @hotmail.com.

Now I know there's a Hotmail app available in the market with the option I'm looking for, but it only syncs mail from the last 30 days, which I don't want and therefor prefer the stock e-mail app (syncs everything).

I'm on 2.3.6 (KKA). Thanks in advance!

Email>Menu>More>Account Settings allows you to change your name and your signature. Is that what you are looking for?

Yes, except I don't get a field with "Your name". The signature field is there however.

Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

Default Email app vs. Gmail app

Are you using the Gmail app or the Email app?

On my Note, the Gmail app has only the signature field in settings, the Email app (which you can use with gmail and/or any other email provider) has "Your name" and "Add Signature" in settings.

edit: I see that in your OP you did say you were using the Email app with Hotmail - so now I don't know what to think!

edit 2: I just tested mine by sending an email to myself, looked at it on my computer, it sent Stan/GNote as my name, followed by my email address.

I found a workaround to change the "Your Name" setting in the stock Email app. I posted the details at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=31342076.
