The app says I need to update the app to get the new recovery....but the market doesn't give me the option to update it.

Just uninstall then reinstall

Yeah I tried that. It didn't work.

Just tells me my options are to open it or uninstall it.

When I go to the app it says there's a new version of the app available and takes me to the Market page where it says I have the latest version.

so uninstall it first, then install it again! Manual update.
just press uninstall, wait, then when it gives you the option to install, press install and you'll be updated

Yeah...I did that. It doesn't work.

After the reinstall from the market, it still says there's a newer version available that I need to get the latest recovery.

Didn't work for me either..... Same situation

Maybe the update hasn't reached you're region on the market yet then
4EXT have released the update, so android market are maybe being a bit slow on distribution
