I've played with a couple but IMO it's managing the phone yourself.

Root it and with a combination of betterbatterystats, cpuspy, and autostarts you can see what's eating your battery, how much work your phone is doing during the day, and disable pointless things from starting up in certain scenarios.

Using all 3 of those I've gotten to a typical 1-2% drain per hour on battery at idle.

but this worked best & really did save battery - Longevity Battery Saver (Beta)
