Just drag an icon to the homescreen and long press it. Hit edit, and you can select a custom icon from the gallery or an icon pack.

Nice Launcher, works well on the CM9 Alpha 13 Nexus S ROM. This has some serious potential. A few things I've noticed:

1 - On the homescreen, when I press 'menu' and go to 'Nova Settings', it takes me to the normal settings. I can only change launcher settings from the icon in the top right of the app draw.

2 - The widget selection is the same as Gingerbread. I've gotten used to the ICS way

Great work from the dev. I look forward to more features being added in the future!

EDIT: I just re-read the OP and seen that it needs to be a system app for widgets in drawer!

Just wanted to report that installing as a system app via Root Explorer didn't work at all for me on my Droid 3 running CM9 Preview 4. Flashing through recovery did work though, and everything is "good in the hood". Just wanted to post this in case others are having a similar issue. Great work!!!

Some of my Widgets disappear after a reboot or a launcher switch.

Installing w/ root explorer, or any other file explorer w/ root access works. You didn't set the permissions properly after pasting it in the /system/app/ folder. I installed it w/ root explorer on my phone. Works just fine.

Edit: The issue under 2 appears when u add the widgets the 'old way' by long-pressing on home screen. If u add them through the app drawer they are still there after a reboot.

Brilliant, love it!

Any plans to allow the status bar to be hidden?
