Just drag or extract the zImage file out of SH's ZIP and drop it into the folder sfhub specified.

I used Heimdall to flash the Rogue kernel, and it worked. I don't know if I did it the correct way, but here's what I did and it worked. Note, this was for installing Calkulins ICS ROM too.

Coming from Calkulins 2.8
In CWM, flashed the FB15 modem
Rebooted
In CWM, wiped data, dalvik, and cache 3x each
Flashed ZIP of Calkulins ICS ROM
Rebooted then rebooted again for good measure

For the kernel, I double-click the TAR file, and it "unzips" the zImage file
Using Heimdall, "heimdall flash --kernel zImage"

The first reboot after the kernel install is scary, no boot animation and a bunch of vibration "beeps". I let it sit for about 2 minutes, and it finished booting.

Hope that helps, I finally got my phone working again after starting this last night. This method worked for me.

I have pulled the zimage but it keeps telling me that the file is not a valid PIT file. Do I need to convert it to a PIT format?

I didn't have that error and I didn't have to rename it. Maybe a corrupt download?

Not if you don't use Odin.

Look back a page or two regarding using sfhub's autoroot tool to flash this kernel. It works, and no increased flash count or triangle.

Still, jigs are cheap anyways.

I believe currently these kernels block SD access for ur phone. Put it on internal. A fix will come.

External SD should only be broken if your on CM9 Alpha 3.1 or earlier. Sbrissen moved external storage on unreleased builds to /sdcard/external_sd so when he releases his new build it will work on that.

In the mean time if your on any other build go to settings-->storage and make sure your external sd is mounted.

Currently we are also looking into reverting bootanimation support on non-CM9 releases in order to get support back. Still not sure why it breaks it on ICS :/

External storage works fine, but you can't install apps there or use TB to restore apps onto it. This is problematic if you tell TB to restore apps to their original location. I also noticed you can't even move apps to SD via ICS..this seems strange. (and annoying..)
