Default Replacement battery-manufacturer warranty

I bought me and my wife a SGSII about 2 months ago. Her battery will last all day, and mine dies in about 8 hours just being in standby. I contacted Samsung for a replacement, and they said I have to send my battery to them to diagnose, and it can take 10 days for a result...

I know I can buy a new battery, but I shouldn't have to. Has anyone ran into issues with your accessories and had to get a replacement?

DONATE TO ME
My battery is not what people have been boasting about. I get about 8 hours also. 40$ is not a cheap battery.I'm going to go to Tmobile and ask about the battery.

I'm having similar issues and am very interested in what you find out from them. I'd hate to revert back to my old phone while they try to figure out what's wrong with the battery. It's a great phone, but I've had no luck with the battery (had the phone 12 days and barely get through 10 hours before having to re-charge when down to about 6%).

I will say charging happens faster now than it did initially. I've tried to close out all open programs, uninstall non-essentials, and am running no widgets. The only thing that actively syncs is my gmail (+ contacts + calendar); work email is set to pull every hour during peak, screen is set to auto adjust, haptic vibrate is on it's lowest setting, so I don't really know what's causing it.

I read some other places and it seems to be hit or miss--either people have excellent battery life, or they're experiencing the same problem it seems we are.
