Default Possible to port ICS VPN client?

I have numerous issues with the PPTP VPN client included with Froyo and Gingerbread, rendering it virtually worthless.
My understanding is that the ICS VPN client actually works. It supposedly allows traffic through the VPN while being able to specify a different gateway so that one can be connected to the internet on the phone while passing PPTP traffic.

Would pulling the APKs related from ICS be possible, or is it much more complicated than that? I don't want to buy a Galaxy Nexus just so that I can use VPN properly.
(I'll actually post my findings with Galaxy Nexus VPN functionality when I get a chance to try it out in the Verizon store.)

Have you tried the Samsung Anyconnect app? It doesn't list the Charge but that may be due to it coming out pre-update. I was able to connect wirh it although thats all I tried to do.

I host my own PPTP server with DD-WRT.
I don't deploy a Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance system. I thought it might be possible for the Anyconnect app to hook up to my VPN anyway, but it doesn't seem to work.
I confirmed that the ICS VPN client does function properly. I wonder if porting the ICS client to the Charge is possible. Could it be as simple and copying the APK?
