Default Works with 4.0.2 (at least partially)

Here's some unexpected (at least to me) news. I'm still on 4.0.2 and the car dock, unlike the desktop dock, actually recognizes when its been docked. It does not wake on the volume key which I think was added in 4.0.2 for the car dock?

With the APKs from earlier in the thread, does audio-out work? (Or I could just wait until tomorrow and find out for myself... Yay for two-day shipping from the Play store!)

I jumped the gun on the pic but it did charge once it finished booting

Want to echo and confirm it DOES work with the LTE Verizon Nexus, WORKS with the the official LTE Verizon extended battery. Line out works like a charm thru the pins if you wish to use it that way. I have both the leaked s voice and car home and I get the standard android menu asking what I want to use when I dock it.

On the issue of damage and fit: I think it is not excessively difficult to insert and remove the phone. It is a tight fit, but if you use 2 hands and do not need to rush (not expecting it to instantly pop out) gentle force on the back will pop it out, carefully inserting it will work. Damage wise I want to think/hope it will not damage the phone. Samsung hopefully was smart about the design. I just would want the phone to last 2 years because thats how long I signed a contract with verizon for and there will be a WAY more powerful nexus in 2 years time.
----
On an off topic note I hope those one-nexus-from-each-OEM-play-store rumor pans out and they sell some of those nexus devices as CDMA (dream) and unlocked (dream) Imagine a HTC One X or S made into a nexus device with CDMA radios that you could take to verizon.

Ah, yes. I assumed since you were on 4.0.2 you were LTE, like all of us Verizoners (currently) are. The 4.0.4 rollout is supposedly happening today, so we'll see.

I'm currently using my gsm phone with the car dock at my desk instead of the desk dock. With the exception of the tightness, I like it much better than the desk dock. Its the only pogo-pin dock that can be used vertically and the height and viewing angles are awesome for my purpose.

It doesn't stick well to a formica-type surface. I'm instead using a small (heavy) multi-pane window glass sample on my desk to attach it to for now.

I know most who commented are not concerned but I am still worried about the long-term toll on the phone from the tight mount. I guess only time will tell if I decide to keep it.

I know this is my third consecutive post but I feel like I needed to support the guy who wanted to use a case with his car mount. Look, the main purpose for these devices is to improve productivity and have fun. I can't fault anyone for wanting something to improve productivity even more. However impractical, I've also thought it would really be nice to have a dock that would accommodate some kind of case even if you had to use one made specifically for the mount. No, I don't think stripping the case is the equivalent to taking the elevator rather than the stairs. Come on know. If there are more productivity improvements in mobile devices I say bring them on. I'll be the first to buy it. There is no reason at all not to voice your desires and if you don't speak out it will surely never happen.

On a side note to everyone, do you guys think that now the GSM version is on sale, Samsung might release a LTE version for both Verizon & Sprint? (I also noticed that Verizon doesn't sell the plastic dock anymore.)
4G LTE
3G

--PHONE--
Nokia 3560 (Cingular) > LG PM225 (Sprint) > Sanyo SCP-8500 (Sprint) > Nexus One (T-Mobile) > HTC Thunderbolt (Verizon) > Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE (Verizon)

--TABLET--
Asus Transformer TF101

Can someone post the length of the charger cable that comes with the car dock? Also, is it coiled or straight?

Thanks!
