Default [Q] Smudge/Spot Under Flyer Screen

Hello all, I noticed earlier today that when I took my Flyer out my backpack(I keep it in a case) that there was a noticeable dark spot under the screen. It's not as noticeable when turned on, but it's pretty apparent when the screen is off.

I have no idea how it got there, the Flyer itself is still 100% functional. Any thoughts on what is the cause of it and any ways of fixing it without replacing the screen?

Thanks

This has happened to mine, it will clear up in a few hours. If you apply a little bit of pressure to the outside of the screen area it will help it along, but like I said, it can take a few hours.

No worries, there will be no lasting damage.

I think some people have gently used a suction cup on the screen to fix this. It seems to happen if something has been pressing the screen.

Quite correct on both counts. Apply the suction cup just outside the "blob" on the good part of the screen an proceed inwards on the blog. A strong non-residue sticky tape will also work if pulled away from the screen it will have the same effect, and it can then can be removed in a peeling motion.

Sorry for the stupid question, but would I would have gain access to the screen by removing the case in order to do that?

@Brutal-Force
That's good to hear. I left it sitting over night, but it's still there. How long did you let your sits?

No, you apply either directly to the screen.

You want to apply the suction cup approximately where the blobs are, proceeding around the blob as indicated it it doesn't disappear with the first application.

Oh I see, thanks very much globatron for breaking it down. I'll try that later today after I go out and get some cups.

Edit. That fixed it. I couldn't find any suction cups, but I used some sticky mount hooks and those did the trick just fine. Thanks for the help guys.

Something like this happened to me the other day and I just wanted to put some input on how to fix it, in case if someone needs more information. I used a GPS suction cup stand. I stuck it on to the screen and with the lever pulled so that it was suctioned to the screen. Without releasing the suction lever, I used my fingernails to peel off the suction from the screen and the screen was fixed. I had to do it a few times before it got back to normal.

Default How to fix spot on HTC Flyer screen

I also had a spot like yours. I did some research and had an easy answer.
Stick it in the freezer for 10mins. Worked for me.
